Tonight I found one of the ospreys dead by the animal shelter. From the size I would say it was the female. Nothing hunts osprey and they eat fish so they dont get the same poisoning the the hawks. I think she may have been hit by a car and someone pushed her into the ditch.

I hate seeing/finding dead birds. It's not a good sign.

How awful. The noble osprey is one of my favorite birds. I'm sorry you had to see that.

I believe you're supposed to call Fish & Game for this sort of thing.

I want them to check and see if there are still young in the nest.

i usually bury them if i can. i find them when i'm out on my bike, the most, so i have to go back for them if i want to. my garden is like a pet cemetery now. it's not bad luck, hon. their spirits might just want a prayer from you, if you have the time, to send them on their way.

There is a dead crow in the cemetery next door.
The crows seem to be chasing/fighting with some hawks(?) and I am guessing this time it didn't go well for the crow. :o
Not sure what else would have gotten it. :o
