ravena_kadeYesterday I visited the elder friends because they needed some help and they have no one. In a conversation DQ asks why I subject myself to some of the cousin shit. Fair question. I believe that Sunday should be for Family and this is what my Dad wants to do. I want to teach ceramics when that happens, but it doesn't really happen anymore. The other thing is that my 94 year old aunt is my last connection to my Mother. I see her and her her when I am with my aunt. Sadly the aunt mostly naps now.
Today at the cousins we were supposed to go out for lunch and then I would come home as Dad watched the baseball game at 4 PM. We get there and the lead cousin is gardening. The next cousin is doing laundry and the youngest is splayed out in a recliner. We are not going to lunch as discussed at 9 PM last night via text. It seems they had a tiff with the 94 year old and she went to bed. Sigh. I get it. She can be difficult. A phone call would have been nice. Just because Dad wants to watch a ball game doesn't mean we need to be there before noon. I thought my head was going to spin off my neck when they suggested to order Chinese take out. Ummm...he's a big boy, but he ate out Thursday night, Friday lunch and dinner, and Saturday breakfast and dinner. He's a big boy so if he wants it... it's out of my hands. GRRRRrrrr. We ordered from another restaurant. He had chicken Parm. Not great but better than Chinese or Pizza.
At one point they were talking about the trip to the outer banks next year...and they are wicked proud of getting Dad to go. We ain't there yet folks. I just said that as long as he is stable. He was not last month and this week he is up and down on fluids. Ill find out more as I talk to doctors. Dad mentioned to them that I had been talking to a doctor. I said it was a nutritionist and all she could suggest that I do differently was make sure he has a snack... The youngest cousin snapped at me...THATS NOT TRUE. She said that the many nutritionists that we went to all told her what to eat and how much to eat... even waggled her finger at me. I said " oh so you went in with a completely balanced diet already and had someone who measured your vitals every day and even if you moved your bowels? Someone came in with you with a food journal listing the foods that they prepared for you?" I am trying to follow a diet that the cardiology department recommends and they say Im doing a good job except for when he cheats. Meanwhile in my head my Mother was telling me to say "Oh and nutritionists were so good that you followed their instructions to weigh 400 pounds after a gastric bypass?" Yeah, I thought it, but no... low hanging fruit.
Dad ran me home at 4. They were ordering pizza for supper.
Now I am mad...and I am trying not to eat through my aggravation.
I think I need a punching bag at home.

You should offer to let they have your dad live with them and let them take care of his health. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!
And not to be morbid, but tell them they can pay for his funeral when they kill him. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He gained 2 pounds since yesterday.
Personally I'd rather die for good food, not pizza.
