May. 21st, 2023 09:36 amLast week I accomplished something I have been trying to do for 6 months...get the team lead a sign on to the wire system. I finally found someone at VISA who would look at the issue. Yay. This is good because I am on vacation and now she can get the wire info. It also may be bad, or good ,as now I have shared all my specialized knowledge...which makes me a lay off target... next week I am there 10 years so I would get a full package if laid off.
On Wednesday the chatty promoted person that pushes my buttons called in sick at the same time one of the other people who do her work were scheduled off to have surgery. This person often calls out when her back up is out. The week before I asked if there was anything I could do to help the back up woman... she is very nice and very overwhelmed... princess chatty woman stresses her out too. The Boston Boss said no because they use a different system. Wednesday the Boston Boss had to actually do their job as it involves cash. I asked if I could help again. Was told no. Friday we had a meeting and the Boston Boss openly asked for someone to step up and offer to help. Ummm... Really?
I spoke to the team lead. I said I am going to be frank and asked WTF. I have asked to help as I see that one woman needs help and chatty needs to be told to shut up. Since I am the only one on the team that reports to a team lead I am getting frustrated. I feel that if there was a lump of seaweed in the room that the Boston Boss would develop that instead of me. The only thing this job has for me is the ability to get my Dad to a doctor. I need a little more development. Is the plan to get me to leave and then hire Linh
or Devin to come back over to the team?
The team lead couldn't really say much. I came up with a plan where I would send an email to the Boston Boss and say how Cindy and I want to come up with a plan to help with the cash and not impact our functions. We believe that doing it together would be beneficial for the team. I could train in person as both people are in Boston with me and then train the team lead so we can support both functions. I set up a meeting to discuss when I come back.
I figure that this way if the Boston Boss doesn't want me to develop she will have to decline in writing. There is only one other person who could volunteer...and that s the Boss' favorite, who roams around in her slippers . She wont volunteer on her own. The boss will have to strong arm her into doing it. The team lead agrees with me on this. The team lead is iffy on the Boss' favorite as she has been thrown under the bus by this person...that and the favorite makes a lot more money than either of us. The team lead hopes that the Boss forces the favorite to take on the cash. I'd be okay with that too.
