Apples to Apples
Apr. 25th, 2023 06:15 pmI went to the Apple store after work. It was a different experience than what I am used to. I have gone to this store since it was first opened in Boston... like 2 days after it opened because I worked down the street from it. All but one machine was bought there. My first was an old Apple desk top from the 90s. Its name was Mr. Data ;-)
Today there were lots of employees around some with customers but many were just chatting away with each other. That's never happened. Usually they greet you and want to know if they can help... I had a list of questions prepared and wanted to see 2 machines. No one even approached me as I moved a 16 in lap top over to a 24 in desk top and began to get the feel of them. Weird. I know I can be seen as my coat was orange. Oh well.
I will order my machine direct. I am pretty sure I will go with the 16 in lap top. The desk top was dead sexy but I have a tiny apartment. The 24 in screan would never fit on my roll top desk. If I meet my photography goals I can get a big monitor and just leave that in the craft room with the printer and hook up when I need to.
I just need to not use the darn thing while sitting in my chair in the living room...its a bad habit that wastes time...when I should be painting...not surfing the net.
The only thing I need to read up on is migrating data from my old machine to the new. They make it sound easy, but I wonder if it is really easy for a non techie person to do? The only think I want off this old machine is my resume, a dozen photos , and for the new machine to know my passwords that I have saved here.

Date: 2023-04-26 12:00 am (UTC)I went into Macy's recently and not one person approached me to see if I needed help. It use to be like entering a shark tank. :o
So anyway, I just walked out. :o
You have a roll top desk? So cool. I have always wanted one. :)
Hugs, Jon
