ravena_kadeYesterday's Dinner went well when it finally happened. My 83 year old aunt has her own sense of time.
Weird thing is that her husband came in he said he had some questions for me. He asked me to explain non binary meant and what with all the trans things in politics lately. His background is very different from mine. He is a 78 year old Black Man who was an abused child whose mother fled the abusive father in the deep south with him and his sisters when he was 10. They were poor and he tried to make something go himself going into the service, fought in a war and was injured and still caries metal in him from an explosion in that war. It was a big topic...
I explained what I knew... for personal in person experience and my on line friend experience. I explained how our government is really trying to harm people who want nothing more than to lead their lives and happy. I explained that it may not be something we understand but we don't have to. Its like I know yours background, but I have never been in your shoes...black, abused, poor, discriminated against, injured vet, etc... but I can listen and empathize and try to gain knowledge... and ACCEPT and be KIND.
Not quite the conversation I thought we would have, but I feel it was important.
Today is a rainy Sunday and I need to get my butt in gear.
I also need to get my butt out there and get a new computer. The back of my 2015 mac is bulging today.
Maybe I will go to the apple store Tuesday. In my heart I wanted an orange 24 inch iMac, but I think it needs to be ordered. Maybe I should just get a silver one....or maybe I should just get a lap top and a monitor for photography. I wish I were more savvy with this stuff.

24 incher, huh? :) I have two 17 inch HPs. lol...
I have gotten ads from them lately, showing two big desk top screens for, now I can't remember. LOL!!!!!!
I think about it, and then I think, I really do like the mobility of a laptop.
And if I want, I can always connect it to my tv set that's 50 inches. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think of a laptops mobility as I can carry it if I need repairs, but the new iMac is under 10 pounds. I haven't travelled with a laptop since I got my iPad and smart phone.
I am thinking that a desk top would stop my from just crashing in my chair and scrolling the internet for hours.

Date: 2023-04-25 10:14 pm (UTC)Funny I call my Aunts husband by name as they were only married 10 years ago. I came her Aunty. Her first husband was Uncle Pudgy...he was suspect number 2 for the Boston Strangler.
In a way I am flattered that when he visits he and my aunt REALLY want to talk to me about real things. None of my other relatives do. Even my sister.
