Dad is in the hospital.

He had an appointment today at the pacemaker dr.'s office. I figured Dad was putting on fluid. I had a kidney test done Friday because his increase fluid pill was not helping him pass fluid more than the lower dosage. This doc confirmed the fluid. When we were there I got the blood test results and asked him to read them. I had said that depending on these I was going to call the heart failure clinic and get him back there. This doc pushed it so we did not need an appointment. He called and they were waiting for us. It wasn't an emergency...but if we waited a few days it could be. He told us that they would give Dad and IV and keep him over night. Since he drove we left the car. The doc in the clinic said that it could be 2 days.

I'm hoping tomorrow does it. If not I will need help getting the car home and Ill take him home by uber or cab on Wednesday.

Im told they will change the fluid pill. They cant say if it was his diet or not.

Im glad this happened now and not in May when I hope to get away for a couple days.

I'm sorry to hear this news, but glad it was caught before it became a real problem.

Your father has such a great caretaker and asset in you. I'm glad you're being diligent and cautious.

But make sure you take care of you sometimes. I've learned hard lessons by being in your shoes and not following that advice.
