Collage

I am making a collage of these sand dollars that I collected last year.

The background is a hand made paper. Right now the sand dollars are on a clear plastic tray so i can see placement. I’m wondering if I need to let more paper shine through?

I have a white shadow box frame for it.

I’m thinking of calling it “Jackpot”

It's weird. I had been going to Cranes beach in Ipswich for 10 years before my Mother died and I never found one. I knew they were there because I could find broken ones. When I went that firs summer after my Mom died I finally found one. It's like the beach knew I was hurting and gave me something. Now I just know where they are.

Scallop shells (the ones pilgrims wore) are the ones I've picked up most of over the years.

Scallop shells are now what I collect. We have small bay scallops at the beach by my house. They are rare, but I find them. Then when I go to Revere beach (the first official public beach in the States... once rich people started hoarding coastal properties) I can fin Atlantic Sea scallops .
