Thursday we went out to the diner Dad likes to go to and I ordered the Corned Beast and Cabbage . I was hoping to satisfy my salty cravings with a New England Boiled dinner (gray corned beef is New England, Red is deli corned beef ...I live that too). No. It sucked. It was bland. Had no flavor. I think they bought fresh brisket and boiled it. Not only that but they sliced it with the grain. =(

I know I have to make some amends to this new relationship with food. The only consistent like in food I have is with Candy. I know this is just an over compensation from cooking for my Dad. The thing is that I am now considered a risk for heart issues. Dad's Dad died of a massive heart blockage, and now Dad...puts me in line for issues. Issue that I can control...BY NOT GRABBING CANDY when my meals suck.

Better things....

The time change has been nice. Spring is Tuesday. Last week I could hear bird song. Its that "hey baby hey baby Im here" songs. I enjoy it so.

I am trying to plan some over night time away. Dad still isn't good about taking all his meds. I see that he misses pills in the weekly pill box because the pills are white and the box is white...sigh.

I want to try and do the Acrylic April challenge this year. The theme is abstract. I figure it would be good to keep me occupied as I am still upset about not getting to go to the beach for 3 weeks or take a real vacation.

A thing I learned Friday watching a whale documentary... Female humpbacks do not feed when the have their calf. They give birth in warm waters then migrate to cold waters and eat when they get there. They estimate that the mothers will eat so much when they first get there that they gain 12 pounds an hour. I often feel like that ;-) I wonder just how they figured that out?

If I could find more grey I’d be happy to cook some for you.
We normally have left overs from our game night corned beef, but this time is was just before our trip so we didn’t keep any.
I’d be willing to do more…

I hope you manage to arrange an overnight away sometime. It's important you have some time to yourself without having the responsibility for your dad.

Interesting fact about the whales. I feel like that, too ;)

I guess that is what you really call an incentive to alter your diet. :o

I wonder if you could live on candy? LOL.......

I was as bad as your dad tonight when it comes to my meds.
If I don't take mine when I dish up my supper I tend to forget them and sure enough, I forgot this past evening.

Good luck with your painting challenge. :)

Why do I get the feeling that whale thing is one of those "facts" that they assume is happening? LOL.........
Hugs, Jon

I want to try and do the Acrylic April challenge this yea

I'm looking at doing Camp NaNo in April, just to get back in the habit of writing every day. (In April you set your own goals, vs in November when you try to write 50K words in a month).
