Last night I came home rather angry. Dad wanted to stay to watch the second football game. I cant stand sports so I left. At ;unchecking the cousins had Chinese food. I knew that and calculated all of his sodium the day before and for breakfast is he could have a carefully measured portion. Then he stays and they order pizza. Are they trying to kill my father? Im killing myself trying to take care of everything and he eats this crap. What is worse is that they ask me if he can have food and when I say that is not a wise choice I am the bitch. I told him that I hope they will be around to call the ambulance for him. I said to let me know if you want to spend another month in the hospital and 2 months at home again... I'll call my sister and have her come home and take care of you.

So bloody frustrating. :o
It would be so tempting to leave him there, go home and pack up a suitcase, and take it to him and tell your cousins that he's their problem now, and let you know when they kill him with their diet. :o
But at the same time, he has to take responsibility for himself too. :o :o :o

I know you want him to stay healthy and you are trying really hard to do that but I agree with

disneydreams, your dad has to take some responsibility for himself. It's a balancing act between quantity and quality of life. Perhaps he prefers quality and being able to live how he wants even with the risks? I really feel for you with this dilemma (hugs).

Maybe you should be angry at your cousins, and yes even Dad.

I'm trying to take note of your experience, as I'm sure when/if I get that age and required to be under a strict diet / restriction, I'm going to be really bad at it because I've had had 40 years of eating what I eat now. I mean, other than the current restrictions I have b/c of food allergies etc.

Ugh.
