The craft room is 95% clear. I had a few distracting phone calls yesterday and I welcomed the distraction. It should be all put back today so I can work on some jewelry repairs and make some items that I was excited to make before Dad's hospital visits.

Speaking of hospital visits...I got a text from Beth Isreal Deaconess Hospital. It says that I will be getting statements via text... great...not... I have been waiting for bill. It said that for the 12/1 stay it was $59,000.00 and I owe $474.00. So happy I forced him to get supplemental insurance when my Mom passed. Now I can only assume that since 12/1 was actually the last day he was in the hospital that it is a total. I don't have any bills for October. So far. I cant worry...it is what it is.

Today I have off for MLK day. Dad started his first full week of going back to work. I have beef in the crock pot for soup and will finish the craft room. Tonights dinner is baked fish with baked squash. Somewhat healthy since I had pizza for breakfast.

$474 marked down from 59K is quite a bargain! 8-0 Even if the insurance payments are high.

WTF with statements via text? I would ask for a paper copy, or at the very least an e-mail. I don't know how you would submit a text for reimbursement from your insurance?

I wish my dad's insurance was that good.
They are refusing to cover any of dad's hospital stay, %60,000.

Can you contest the insurance company to get them to pay some? Also, if you are not financially connected to your Dad just pay a little at a time and and leave them holding the rest in the future. My Dad and I own the house together so if Dad passed then they could put a lien on the house.

I was looking at some paper work about contesting and for me to do it, dad has to give permission for me to help him, and I don't know if he's mentally with it enough to go through that.
I need to call the VA social worker and see if they can help some how.

You may also want t ask about power of attorney. I need to do that next.

I do have medical power of attorney and all three boys share regular power of attorney.
Not sure when that covers things and not.
I suppose I could dish out some money to the attorney that did the will and get some clarification. :o
