Dad called. He sounds good. He said a doctor would be calling me. I asked if they tell him everything they are doing or are they just telling me. He said he believes they are telling him everything but he just doesn't understand. They said he was doing excellent and they would remove the cath in his neck. I asked if he feels that things are going well. Is he pleased with his care. Is there anything he wants me to push or ask. He said the only thing he wants is for me to be able to come in, that I bring good food, and to know when he can drive or go to work.

I had to turn in the heat this morning, but I cant function well if I am too cold. I have had it off to save the oil for when Dad comes home. I have 10 days before the oil tank is replaced.

Lots to do today. I need to work because we are short staffed for 3 days. I cant pass anything off to anyone. This sucks.

I need to make a list of things that need to be done. Most of it is Dad stuff, but I also let me id expire as I didnt want go to a registry during covid I think you now need to make an appointment that could be 3 to 4 months out. I need a social worker/financial advisor if that exists. I just dont know what to do.

I got a text from my older brother today asking if I was going to be taking dad's chair up to the nursing home so he will have something to sit on in his room.
I said I highly doubt that it will fit in my vehicle, but if he could use his pickup to take it up there...
His reply? Yeah, I just don't know when I will get around to it.
So it's important enough for me to do, but when it's his problem to handle it can wait for who knows how long. Same thing happened when dad needed his hearing aides in the hospital. He couldn't do it for days, so I found a friend to run them up and then through events, the hospital has lost them. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIKES. i mean... i feel like my siblings stepped it up when my father had Alzheimer's and now that my mom is having some heart stuff, they're showing up. so reading this makes me want to smack someone. reading Jen's stuff makes me want to smack someone. when parents are ill, you really want all hands on deck. i dunno. gah. <3
