Nov. 19th, 2022 07:40 amI thought I was going to break.
The phone started at 7:30. Dad's BP is very low. The phone started with a visiting nurse call saying they would be there at 1 but they never showed up until 3:30.
Then a call from the people who are monitoring the daily vitals via internet saying that his bp ws low. I explained for 30 minutes what had happened last night and what instructions I got at discharge and all they could say was that he should drink water.
Then I get a call fro his primary care office and go through the same explanation again and they said that they will book an appointment with the primary care...but she doesnt have any openings until January... sigh.
Then I get another call from the new cardiologists office and have to explain everything all over again...
Then the hospital calls and I need to go over it again. I ask what to do and they just say drink water
When the visiting nurse arrives we go over the meds and she checks him out. He has been drinking water. She was here for 30 minutes when I get a phone call from a doctor who I dont know and says he works for Boston Scientific and I need to rush my Dad to the hospital in Boston because his pacemaker/defib is giving off signals... I was stunned and confused... the nurse heard and I put the doctor on speaker phone. She asked who was speaking and he said "My Name is irrelevant. You people need to move or he will be shocked" She writes down all his vitals and tells Dad to get his shows and a few things and tells me to call 911. She wishes me luck and tells me to call her and let her know what happens.
I call 911 and to get an ambulance and they have questions. I tell them the a defibrillator may be going off and I need to get to Boston. Then Dad's phone wrings and he's trying to shove the phone in my face. He is yelling that I should hang up. I asked the 911 woman to wait a mute and she starts yelling at me that she cant. So I have 2 phones to me heard and the person on the Dad's phone starts yelling that I should not go to the hospital. I say look I am on 2 phones at the same time I need to talk. Both yell and say hang up on the other. I hear what the person on Dad's phone is saying and I tell the 911 person. She says she cant cancel an ambulance but you dont have to go and good luck. The an on Dad's phone is a doc from the Boston Hospital He tells me that the doctor who called from the defibrillator monitor place was reading the wrong report. He was reading a report fro Nov 2. Your Dad was in the hospital when that happened. OMG OMG. He also said that the hospital should not have stopped one of his heart meds and that I should continue it.
Then there are police and firemen and cops in the living room (I left the front door open) and they could here that I was loosing it. They checked out Dad and made sure he felt okay. I apologized and they said no problem. I felt stupid and bad that I pilled all these people to the house.
Then I had to call back the cousins because I left a message that I may beed a ride into the Boston hospital if the ambulance would not let me go with him.
Dad wanted to go to breakfast today but cant. I got a call that a nurse would come today but the couldn't give me a time so we have to wait for that.
I am just so frazzled. Then my Dad's sister is calling at 8 PM...I did not hear my phone because I was asleep. Dad did not hear his phone as he was asleep so then the house phone started going off and woke us up...and I could not get her off the phone. Then at 9:30 my sister calls ...and then at 10:30 I am getting texts asking how dad is... and at 6:35 this morning phone phone goes off again with texts for Dad.
