Oct. 25th, 2022 07:33 amYesterday was much better for Dad. The night before he almost died. At 6 AM he was calling me to complain that the food sucked and that he was bored.
I stopped working at noon. The plan was for my sister to he'd over to the hospital and be there as soon as they would let her in at noon. I would follow either by traitor a ride from my cousins. The night before we thought he was going to die. They were at the supermarket at 11:45 where I live. UUUmmm... priority? Hello? I told them to get me to save the cousin a trip to Boston and me $3.00 for a train ride. Oi. It takes them 20 minutes to get in and out of a car as they have to putz with everything before they leave. I have a severe limp from the not quite broken toe (4 toes on my foot are dark purple) and I still walk faster.
When we arrived they were doing a nerve block on Dad. They "froze" a nerve in his heart to see if that would stop whatever was triggering the heart to stop beating. It was explained to us that sometimes after a bypass surgery the heart gets aggravated when it receives blood in parts of it that has been blocked off for a while Nd this will cause the heart to stop beating. This block is temporary and will allow the heart to accept the new flow. He still may need the ICD unit...which is more of a zapper than a pace maker. Dad is okay with it.
Today I am making him food as he does not like anything. Oi. Home made soup, grilled turkey, sweet potatoes, spinach. I want to feed him a big lunch and leave him the tuna for later.
and just because I am keeping count...my cousin woke me at 5 AM and Dad has already called twice.
