ravena_kadeYesterday I had friends over to enjoy the dec. I was happy that the weather cooperated. I made pulled pork, burgers and grilled chicken. Had side salads to go with it. Desert was a lovely pie made by maltere, and cupcakes. It was nice to sit and enjoy being outside.
Today didnt go as planned. There was an animal shelter meeting from 10 AM to Noon and brunch was mentioned. The meeting was at a fancy events place that we have used before and had dinners. When I got there the brunch was water and donuts. Hmmm...
The main concern of the Animal Shelter volunteers is the amount of coyotes at the new location. I personally am not afraid of the coyotes. When I walk a dog and its dark I make noise. I talk loud to the dog. I also will not go out alone with a little dog. I will also get a flashlight. What bothered me was they were talking about us using a pepper spray fog that shoots 20 ft. Ummm..all I can see is someone using it and the wind shifts and we pepper spray ourselves.
I got home about 1 and just became lazy and sleepy. I did manage to frame a piece of art for the down stairs dining room...but that's about it. Not sure why I feel so tired. At least I had no plans for this afternoon so I didnt have to push.

Date: 2022-09-26 07:16 pm (UTC)The thing is that we had them at the old shelter place too...the shelters are always my marsh ;and as no one wants to live near backing dogs. At the old shelter the coyotes knew us and knew that there were animals there ..and we were on a main road. Out new location is down a road practicalling in the marsh...and we are new to this particular group of coyotes so they are naturally curious.
My fear is that a bigger dog will try to go after a coyote and drag a volunteer down

I don't even consider that breakfast, no coffee, no juice, no milk, just water? Bread and water is what you give prisoners, not volunteers. =(
