Went to the cousins as we do on Sundays as Dad likes to visit. We talked about the upcoming trip the cousins have (I am house and pet sitting) and had Chinese food for lunch. The 93 year old aunt fell asleep sitting on the sofa after a big meal. Dad and the cousins watched a ball game while I stared at my phone and napped a bit.

At one point the lead cousin's phone lights up and she goes into the other room and we can hear a muffled voices...door was closed. I suspected bad news as the lead cousin's Godmother had let herself become terrible dehydrated on those hot days ad was not doing well. The same thing happened with my Grandmother. I knew this because the cousin cancelled some labor day plans just in case. The Godmother was 90.

My aunt woke up on the sofa and looked confused. I know she could not hear anything as her hearing aids were not in. The 2 other cousins got up and left. I asked my aunt if she would like a cup of tea. She blinked and said yes. I could tell she was confused. I went down the hall and saw the girls upset.. but okay. It did not seem like it was about my Uncle with the Brain Cancer (He is 85). I told them their Mom was awake and I am thinking that you had bad news. You never told your Mom that the Godmother was not doing well. They had not. I left and made the tea. They come out and the lead cousin went to her Mom and said "Mary Elizabeth..." My aunt said I just dreamed about her. The lead cousin said that they had bad news...that she passed... and my Aunt said that Mary Elizabeth came and said good bye.

So sorry for the bad news. Creepy about your aunt, my cousin did exactly the same thing. She was only about 11 or 12 when her mother died. My cousin was/is what was horribly termed 'backward' back in the day but would be described as having learning difficulties these days. Anyway, when her grandmother went to tell her her mother had died Shirley told her that her mother had come to say goodbye to her during the night - she saw her eyes. She would never have lied about anything let alone that. It freaked me out at the time (I was a year older). She also refused to go to the funeral. Poor aunt Pansy Hazel was only 38. The mysteries of heaven and earth.
