Jul. 24th, 2022 10:23 pmLast week was absurd as far as the training goes. This wont work and will be worse by September...but its not my call.
The heat is absurd. Usually I can take it but when I walked home from the train station on Thursday I thought I fried my skull. When I closed my eyes I could see white lights/bursts like fireworks going off in my brain. The bus that I would take to get closer to home has been eliminated so I have no other way to get home.
I have had 3 air conditioners gunning since Thursday and the living room and kitchen, where my office workspace is set up, is only 88 degrees. My electric bill will be sky high and I am still at 88 degrees.
The electrician has never sent us a quote. I will need to follow up with him. I need to know if he will do it or if I should find someone else. This project has been handing on since April.
Saturday I got up early and headed to Revere beach as they are bussing all commuter rail trains out of North station. You need to take an hour train ride to Wellington and the an hour or more bus ride to Beverly, then a half hour train to Ipswich. All in excessive heat. Then do it to come back home. All that for a normally 40 minute train ride. That and 2 trains caught on fire Thursday from the heat. Once was stuck on a bridge and a woman panicked and jumped out a window andante the river 50 feet bellow.
I hit Revere beach at 7:30 AM and was back home by 10:15, before the crowds. The water was lovely and refreshing. I did my usually sea shell hunt and waked about 4 miles all total, barefoot at the tide line. The beach gifted me with a sea scallop shell. I have never found one before. A fabulous find that made me very happy. Silly me.
The trains have me worried. The whole system is proving to be very unsafe. I know I could not have swam if I had to jump 50 feet into a river. I don't even know how to swim. I now look for all the emergency exits when I get on a train. Sad how things have gotten so bad.

They're so pretty! They don't show up on the beaches in SC very often, but I'm always happy when I find a scallop shell. <3
