Tonight I walked the house beach at just about his tide.

The water is warm enough that I can walk in the surf. I need water shoes as the sand has a lot of gravel and I have tender toes ;-)

The house beach must know that I am getting ready for my beach trips up north. Tonight it presented me with a perfect, not beaten up, moon snail shell. Last week I foundry first i tact one, but it was worn by the waves. Its like the beach was saying "don't forget about me"

I wonder if this shell made it here from another beach? Or is the water getting clean enough for moon snails? We do have our fair share of predatory snails... slipper snails, dog walks, periwinkles and such.

I am also not seeing as many bay scallop shells. I wonder if swim a little farther out for cooler water.

Slipper limpets as we call them are rather fascinating as they are able to change gender!

I had a friend who painted moon snail shells, they were so pretty.
