They are making changes at work. We now have to use a time card website to clock in and out of work and before and after lunch and breaks. We used to be able to combine our two 15 minute breaks with lunch so we could have an hour. Now we cannot do that. Only 30 minutes for lunch, which is unpaid time. Now the breaks are one 10 minute and one 15 minute break and they are not paid for. We can take them but then you will only be paid for 7 hours and 35 minutes. So if you take your break you have to stay later or get your pay cut. This is only for hourly people. The team leaders, managers and people 1 grade higher than me are not affected. So within the same team you have people who can have an hours lunch and those that can only have 30 minutes.

The thing that bothers me is that you have to time your entries on the webpage so you are at exactly 8 hours or you will be reported. If you are a minute too early, or late you will generate a report.

This all starts Monday. It will be their loss. Anything I cant get to will have to be done by the team lead who is salary. I'll bring my sketch book in the mornings and draw until the exact time I can punch in.

Those changes sound archaic. It's a sure fire way to get constant staff turnover. If they want to keep good people they need to treat them with some respect and made to feel they matter. Don't give them a minute of extra time!

They sound overly strict at your job sigh. It makes me wondering if they got in trouble for not providing breaks and now they have to prove that they are.

WTF? Were you doing timesheets before this? Or were they not keeping track of hours?

Damn straight, if they're not paying you overtime, don't work overtime.
