So the deck is finished, but the contractors still have to come back to do some inside work where the sliding door was put in. They were called away mid last week because of a main gig they do...they build things for a Zoo in Rhode Island. They hope to be back next week and it should only be a few days. I CAN ONLY HOPE. They took there crap out of my yard, but there are still some things in the drive way. Meanwhile the grass is up to my hips because the person Dad called to tae care of the lawn hasn't shown up.
I have almost saved my garden part of the yard. I took the weed whacker and then the lawn mower to the garden section and then to the front lawn. The neighbors approached me to see if anything was wrong as the grass/weeds out front were also hip high. I got that fixed and planted some flowers so the front of the house no longer looks abandoned.
I was able to plant my tomatoes and beans, eggplant and cucumbers.
We have 3 days of rain coming up. I hop that will green up the brown spots from where the contractors left their tools and materials on the lawn.
Work has been more of the same. Today there was a meeting to talk about training the claims department on the VISA work I do. It's been 3 weeks since I sat with the woman who wrote up the procedures. Today's meeting was like talking to bricks. No one responded. No one asked questions. I actually asked if anyone was there. It turns out that they dont have any systems... The Boston Boss had to step in because no one was talking to me. It was ridiculous. I set up a meeting for next Tuesday. I ask who would be the ones to actually do teh work. I will work with them. It was then I found out that they dont have any systems and dont want get anything new. The Boston Boss had to say tough and gave them people to contact to get the systems as we were under the impression that they used the systems that we were using, just not in a way that I use them.
I asked the Boston Boss to stay on the line after the meeting. I said that I was not prepared for this level of non participation. She said this will be like pulling teeth. I said that's fine, but I need management to give them a date. A ready or not date. She said we can do that once they get the systems. It dont believe her. She's teh one who told me that they were smarter than me and have been doing claims better the me and that they will just take it once I walk them through one system. Well that was a load of crap.
On a better note I found out that they are running the shuttled to my beloved beach starting June 18th. I am making plans as I need to get out and be me...and not be stuck doing chores or babysitting my Dad. i also have a trip to Jersey later this month so that will be fun too.

Date: 2022-06-04 07:50 pm (UTC)I can imagine. I was just out running errands and OMG the grass and weeds every where were so tall! The grass at Walgreens was two feet high. I don't know if we had the perfect combination of rain and sun the past couple of weeks or what.
