A Day. I want my Mother

Today was emotional.

Work was like running into a brick wall. Started at 4 A. Worked until I had to leave for my dentist appointment, gone an hour and then came back and worked until just now (8 PM). I really don't think I can bull through things much more as there is not enough bull left in me.

To top it off I watched an interview that I knew I shouldn't have... they said it was graphic... but usually I am good... but I wasn't. It was an interview with a 22 year old young woman who was savaged (not a strong enough word) by 2 dogs. She was a dog sitter, had met the dogs a week before, and whence went to the house to walk then they attached her...over 800 bites and ... to the face . She wanted to talk about it. She spoke as best she could... considering. But I found myself hysterical and could not continue.

I was so flustered when I left the house that I saw a tall blue box on my neighbor's lawn and my brain said TARDIS (A ship that travels in Time and space for my non sci fi friends)... how I would have ran in. Alas...the neighbors are doing some sort of renovation on their house and it was a portopotty on the front lawn. Now there is some reality for you.

I broke at the sight of what the digs did to her and I am that close to that happening anytime I put a collar on any new dog at the shelter.

I saw pictures of that woman and that was enough, felt awful for the rest of the day, too. How terrible that was.

I volunteer at a shelter and at anytime that could happen.

I suppose the thing to take away format is that she survived and wants to keep going on.

I have tried to be a dog person, but I have been attacked too many times. The sweet ones are sweet indeed, but they are all potential walking bear traps to me. :(

I was attacked my a German shepherd who I was in first grade. Grabbed my hip. My mom pulled it off me and scared it away. It had jumped a fence and its owner was looking for it.

Geez, you are *totally allowed* to be upset by that interview. Especially after workday like that.

Just so you know, there is one of the Doctor Who audio dramas where someone is impersonating the Doctor and misunderstood the instructions and does travel in a blue portopotty.
“It’s blue! All the photos of them show police near them! They must be blue police boxes!”

So, maybe you weren’t so wrong…
