Feb. 26th, 2022 08:03 amI need to get a handle on my anger and anxiety. Yelling at the work computer does no good. I actually used the C word for my boss. She scheduled a series of meetings at 2 PM on Fridays just after saying I could leave at 2 PM while working at home, unless there was a meeting.
The boss told us that we are going back to the office on April 1. It's a Friday. Its also April Fools day... we are a bunch of fools. She fully admits that they want us in at least 3 days. They would prefer no lower grade workers work remote and save the WFH for the upper management. Everyone need to be in Mondays and Fridays... but there is no room. How are they doing this?
Also, non vaccinated people are not allowed in the building. So will they be allowed to WFH or be fired? I asked a coworker in PA if she heard anything as we have 3 people in PA who will not vaccinate (she is one) She says that HR will not tell er anything so they dont know if they will loose their jobs. But if they get to be remote then most of the vaccinated people will be up in arms. This is adding tension to every meeting...every day
My anxiety is that 3 people I directly work with are not vaccinated. The team leader will quit if she cannot work remote. She does not want to change her daughters schooling. She knows people who can help her find a job. We have a hiring freeze on. Just how much will be thrown at me... with no buffer between me and the Boston boss.
If I had a better relationship with the Boston boss it would be a chance for me to show my leadership capabilities, but she goes by seniority and I don't have that...and well... I started the day calling her the C word in my Kitchen.
On the other hand, if I am traveling in town and working in a cramped office setting then I should have no extra concerns about trying to job interview. What I am looking for in a job is a flexible schedule to be ablate get Dad to Doctor's appointments and not a huge pay cut.
