ravena_kadeThe team leader called me this morning. She started back today. She thanked me for all the work I had been doing. We just chatted. There are no real words that can help when you loose someone. Its just time and finding a new way.
I thought it weird that the other woman didn't tell me she was coming in today after I asked. It was also weird that the Boston Boss knew she would be back today. Some people are weird.
It made a huge difference having the team leader back. I kept her work while she looked it questions/issues I was having.

In other news Da wanted to replace the floor in his bathroom while he was still working. The contractor cousin came today. Not only did the time need to be changed but the sub flooring down to the cellar ceiling needed to be replaced as the wood was rotting. Oh boy. I think this will be an extra $1000.00. They could not finish the job today so for the next few days I get to share the bathroom in my apartment.
and in scarier news...the sale of Dad's work may not go through because of a misunderstanding...if that happens the boss is just going close up in December... That makes me the main income. Oi.

Date: 2022-01-26 02:13 pm (UTC)I feel that any upgrades to the first floor are good as they will increase the value of the value of the apartment. If I can stay here that would be the food I would rent out. If I cant swing it then it makes the place more valuable for sale.
It just bugs me that it takes away from what I need to do my kitchen over. Its 1940s up here...with the 1940 electrical. For me just to upgrade the item electric will cost 10K ...and I cant reno the kitchen and pass an inspection for the reno with teh electric the way it is.
and if Dad leaves work this year I will never have the 15 to 18k needed.
