Today I get a call before 6 AM from the Boston Boss. Another person is out and she has Covid...and I have to do her work. Great. I also found out that when the boss was sick New Years she really did have Covid. She was trying to get my sympathy going for the coworker so I would just swallow all the work. I told her that I had Covid last year from Christmas... she was surprised that I worked. I told her that it can hit people very differently and it was mild for me and I knew that no-one would do my work. I told her that I was not sure I can do all this work. She said I could carry it over tomorrow. Ummm...its like shoveling and I will never catch up. Great. It is more than annoying to start at 4 AM to find out at 6 AM that you are already behind 3 hours. I refuse to start early anymore. It took 1.5 hours to do the reports. If I start at 6 no one will see them until 7:30. If they want them earlier I want my hours changed to 5:30 AM to 2 PM.


We have a new director. I think he is based in Boston. Let's see how long he lasts before he quits.

I was able to secure time off in February. Even if plans change I will take it.

At this rate you are going to really need that time off in Feb! It sounds like a mess, I am so sorry.

I was going to comment something along the lines of, "It's unfortunate for all involved, but it's not your responsibility" on your last post, but thought that was too harsh.

I hope you find a way out of this mess, or get your hours changed.

What I don't get is why you have to do everyone's work if they are off yet it's not always reciprocated for you. I know I've always said it but they use you because they know they can. I really hope you get your hours changed so that at least you get the benefit of finishing early in the day (but don't let them get you to stay longer to finished this or that!).

I think it's probably the case that they don't really care if it's unfair as long as the work gets done :( If I ever won big on the lottery I'd give her enough that she could tell them to shove their job where the sun doesn't shine!
