Dad likes to go over to the cousins. They do a casserole buffet for Christmas. I like feast/special food, so I made Lobster waffles for breakfast. It's lobster meat in a tarragon béchamel sauce over waffles. It is very filling. I also opened a bottle of Prosecco. Nothing cuts rich foods like a bit of bubbly.
Dad the cousin thing from 11 to 6 PM. They had the brother and his kids and the kid's husbands and the grand kid over. 12 adults and only comfortable seating for 8. It was loud chaos as the 3 year old ran around...just like a normal 3 year old, and all the adults but me and the 93 year old watched football with the sound off on the TV. Weird. I keep wondering how rude it would be to bring a small sketch book and do something else...
The second football game was annoying the 93 year old so we went her room and had some quiet one on one time conversations. Her kids joke and say that she likes me better than them. Um..no, it's because I don't have any expectations for her and I don't yell at her.
Came home and watch Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...the original and relaxed.
Today is food shopping and back to the cousins because Dad wants to.
Then back to work tomorrow.
