Happy Day to All, what ever you are doing.

Last night I made cranberry sauce by moonlight.

I did not make the holiday cookies. I only have one box of condensed mincemeat left and when I went to Amazon last week they were selling 2 boxes for $66 ...and 10 boxes for $1057...That is not a typo. Holy Crap. Since the cousins hide the cookies until their brother leaves I figure I would make them for Sunday and we could all share them...especially if these are the last cookies forever. I did find a recipe that uses the jarred version and sounds like the cookies we make. I will be experimenting k

We are heading to the chaos that is the cousins. Dad like that. My Thanksgiving will be Saturday when I head to Ipswich for Fried Clams. There is also an old fashioned toy store that we will go to to pick up a couple little kid gifts. One for my cousin's 3 year old and another for the daughter-in-law of a waitress that is really nice to my Dad.

Along with work I have been crafting. I am helping my friend at a pop up craft market in my city that is Friday night from 4 to 9 PM and again next Friday 4 to 9. I thought I would help to get to know the people running it as I want to be a part fo the summer market. I made some big things that probably sell, but will be eye candy to look at her small Christmas trees. I made the prettiest big tree I have ever made as a center piece. If it doesnt sell I will keep it as my decoration. If it does sell I will make a bigger one.

I've never heard of condensed mincemeat but I imagine it's like the jarred variety we buy to make traditional Christmas mince(meat) pies rather than cookies. It's a sweet mixture of raisins, currants, brandy, lemon zest and juice, shredded suet, dark brown sugar, chopped mixed peel, grated nutmeg, apples pealed and chopped. If they make their own some people add or take out ingredients according to personal taste. The mixture is spooned into tarts or pies made with sweet shortcrust or puff pastry and cooked in the oven. Just yummy and we eat them all the time in the lead up to Christmas. A jar of mincemeat costs just over £1 in the supermarket, extra rich costs slightly more.

Your mention of fried clams always makes my mouth water :)

The old fashioned toy shop sounds lovely, I'm sure you'll find some interesting toys there. Happy Thanksgiving!

Last night I made cranberry sauce by moonlight.

I hope that was as magical as you made it sound.

And Holy Cats, talk about price gouging on the mincemeat!!! That's crazy.

I made the prettiest big tree I have ever made as a center piece.

Glad to hear you're crafting again. I know how much you enjoy it.
