ravena_kadeLast Wednesday night I was very stressed about not being able to work because of power. I am so far behind in my work because Thursday, Friday of the previous week and the Monday I had to do ask my Team leaders work. So when I woke up and there was still no power I packed up my work computer and the monitor...which is weighted and HEAVY... and all the cords and crap that goes with my "work station... into a small weekend suitcase with wheel. The monist wouldn't really fit so I tied it non to the top of the case. I wheeled it 5 block to my friend's ceramic shop... ay 4:30 AM.
I was happy that I could het it all started there and I could connect to the wifi. I had no modem to hard wire into, but some work is better than no work. I sent emails to the Boston Boss and team lead saying that I dint know how long I could stay there as there was a class coming in at 10. and I started to plug away. The morning reports were slow, but I expected that because I was using wifi. The team lead messes me and asks if she can help. I said I just wanted to take things one step at a time and see how far I could go. She was downloading reports for am ACO system and it took double teh usual time.
At 5:50 I get a text from the Boston Boss asking if I had power. I said no, but I was at a ceramic shop. I was up and running but slow. She wanted me to download reports for her on the ACO system while she drove into the office. Umm...that may take me 2 hours since I was on WIFI. She said she didn't want the others to be behind in their work and wanted me to do it. I became angry, but typed nothing. Glad it was a text as I would not have been able to hid my feelings in my voice. She knew I was behind and knew I was working in a very unorthodox way. I said that I dint realize that we could go into the office. I thought from the meeting we had on Monday that I needed to make a reservation. She said no. That we could go in anytime we wanted. (WTF) I asked if I confused the info in the meeting. She said no. (WTF)
Gee, do you think it would have taken a HUGE amount of effort to text me the night before and tell me that I could go in if I didn't have power. She knows that I can get a ride to the door. That just upset me. Here I am thinking I am going an extra mile to work...and she could care less.
Then she asked me to research work from over a year ago. i said I would as soon as I finished the recs, but since I am on wifi it will take some time...
Friday I had a PTO day scheduled. I wasn't going to take it, but I was upset so I did. I hoped that I would have power and I could work behind the scenes to catch up. But I never has power until this afternoon.
I really wish I could figure out the boss. This seems so deliberate.
