I have been AWAOL.

I lost power on Tuesday night and have been fighting to get the utility truck here to fix it. Trouble was that a wire came loose from the utility pole outside my house on Tuesday night and then a Cyclone Bomb (what the weather people called it) hit and thousands of people were without power... I have been rather stressed and cold and missed work...etc...

A utility truck pulled out to the house just as we were pulling out of the driveway today. Dad and the Armenian neighbor went over to the truck. There was a small wire on the street side that was disconnected from the pole. I never thought to check that side. The utility man said that if we saw it and said there was a wire down we would have been looked at first because the electric company would have freaked and thought live wire. You would have still be correct about they wire and not really lying. oh well. The Armenian neighbor told us to go and he would make sure that the wiring was fixed before he would let the man leave. We turned on the front porch light and the neighbor said he would make sure the light came on before the guy could leave.

We went to the aunts where they had a late Birthday cake for my Dad I left at 3 so I could check the house and get things cleaned up. We had 5 bags of trash from the down stair refrigerator. I haven't cleaned my fridge out. Lost everything. Bummer, but things could have been worse.

I have the furnace gunning right now to get the chill out of the house. I had burning oil like that, but the house was 53 degrees today. The cat is happily sleeping on a radiator.
