ravena_kadeYesterday I had a long talk with my team leader. She is very anxious about coming back into the office and anxious about when she will find out when she is coming into the office. If its July she needs to scramble to find child care... if she finds it and we dont go back until September she is out of money. Or her husband may have to quit the Day job he started last year and go back to a night job. That's a lot to think about. Frankly the bank thinking that WFH is a reward and should not be wasted on the little people is absurd. My biggest worry is not telling my boss off...and actually using teh rest rooms...as they were never clean before. I dont trust them now to be germ free.
Today We headed up to Ipswich for flowers and clams. There was also a new art gallery I wanted to visit. I met the artist and his work is fabulous... all the beautiful places in Ipswich. He worked in both oils and watercolor. He retired 2 hywards ago and is now a full time artist. I am jealous.
WE chatted for about an hour. He is a very soft spoken, quiet man...probably wondering who this loud orange haired ninny was. I did come very close to buying a painting. $600 for a small oil painting which is the exact place I have been wanting to paint for 3 years now. We shall see. I need to fund place where I would like it to live before I buy it.
He also teaches.
He said that I seemed to know a lot about composition and watercolor. I said that most of it was what I learned in books and such...but all the words dont matter until you can get the paint on the paper.
One subject did surprise me. He painted Forsythia in both watercolors and oils. And he absolutely caught the spirit of them. He told me that they were across the street from his house and he loved them. I know the town well enough that I now know where he lives.
If I could just carve out some stable time I would love to take a class... but it is so hard for me.
