This morning I woke up late. At 6:30 AM. I wanted to be up for the sun rise, but sleep won. I don't get to sleep often.

The high tide was at 4:35 AM and I wanted to walk the beach at sun rise. I did get out and walk, It was nice. Spent an hour and a half. Because of the stormy weekend there was a proper rack line for me to follow. The water itself was still cloudy from the storm (mud bottom bay not sand)

One weird thing happened. I saw something swimming towards me. I watched it. It seemed to target me. It was gray and slick and I could see movement a trouble inches away that looked like legs swimming. I thought it may have been a horseshoe crab. It took a while for it to get closer... there was some suspense as I could not figure it out. The movement was odd. For some stupid reason I stepped into the murky water to reach out to the thing. Mt feet would be okay as I have waterproof hiking sneakers. Not a bright move... reaching for something that you dont know what it is. I felt like I was in some science fiction show ;-) Just as I reached it the thing flipped and I could see the word NIKE in it. Very weird.

I pulled it out and it was a small pair of draw string pants. The pockets were filled with rocks. FILLED. The water was calm. This should have sunk...not floated. Not moved. It bothers me. You fill your pockets with rocks if you are trying to down yourself. Or, you put rocks in clothing if you are trying to hide it...like its evidence .

I spent the rest of the day in the garden. I weeded the longest garden bed and I started to widen another bed. The thing I dislike most on yard work is cutting turf. I hope to finish that tomorrow. I filled 3 60 gallon barrels with yard waste.

Tonight is an 800 mg Advil night as I am getting quite stiff. It will be an early bedtime tonight.

Tomorrow I hope to walk the tideline again and then garden.
