ravena_kadeWell Saturday and Sunday were not what I wanted, but what are you going to do.
Saturday was such a monsoon. Not the garden day I wanted. Many tall blooms were destroyed =(
I did make the day useful by doing some big cleaning. I was not please that the heat came on.
Sunday was supposed o be a cook out at the cousins. Nope. Day 2 of the Monsoon.
Instead of lunch and watching a movie or a ball game it was an afternoon of Sponge Bob Square Pants... my least favorite kids show of all time. The cousins decided to baby sit the 2 year old grand nephew. He is a nice boy...and friendly. It's just that the cousins act like buffoons around him. That and he is a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic. Sad for him, but the parents seem to be getting the hang of keeping his blood sugar levels good. The thing was that since he was there the cousins didnt want to have any food so they would not tempt him. Umm... gee I would have eaten before coming over if I was told we wouldn't have our usual lunch
Today was an errand thing. Dad needed stuff at many different stores and we went out to lunch.
After supper I went to the shelter and me the saddest german shepherd I have ever met. He was painfully thin. Sad eyes. Missing lots of fur and had committed his entire dinner.
There was a memo that said to only give him small amounts of water at at a time because he drinks it way too fast and throws it up. Well, the city dog officer just left the food and water there at 4 PM and at 5:30 there was no water and his dinner was tossed up. No wonder why he is thin.
I cleaned him up and took him outside. We sat in the grass and he just put his head in my lap. I asked one of the cat care people if they would go to the abet and get a pouch of microwave rice and some chicken meat from the salad bar. We microwaved the rice and gave him a little with the chicken. Fed him by hand so he would not bolt it down and gave him water from a cat bowl so he could take gulp a lot down. His file said he had clergies but the people who owned him never gave him his allergy medicine. That and has spend the last 3 months tied up in a yard as the people had a baby and didnt want the dog near it. People are terrible. Hopefully a Vet will look at this dog this week.
