ravena_kadeIts been an odd week...
Monday someone at the shelter made a couple of comments that put me off. One was about my weight and the other made me realize I am probably one of teh few struggling lower middle class there.
Tuesday I spent quite a bit of time trying to get my Dad a new doctor at a new medical place. He's on the system, but I have to jump through a few more hoops to get him an actual appointment. Medical stuff here is such a cattle call.
Wednesday I took a few hours of PTO because I was getting the furnace inspected. The guy wasn't able to show up. He had car trouble...so I am told. He is here now.
I did get to spend a couple hours in the garden and working on my tan ;-) After a few of the spring plants bloom I am going to move them around. Lots of digging, but they will be happier in fuller sun.
That night I wanted to make bacon cheese burgers on teh grill and thought I would try bacon on the grill. Watched a few videos to know that you dont put the bacon on the grill itself. I had a grill pan that I cook veggies in. I lined it with 2 layers of foil. It was going well until I turned the bacon and sliced the foil with the tongs. Well...the bacon grease set the grill on fire. I was able to put it out with no hard to the grill (and didn't blow up the gas tank) The bacon was extra crisp, but the burgers were delicious.,. I guess they were flame broiled.
On Thursday we had a work town hall meeting that was weird. The CEO wants us back in the office and since the Governor has us back at 100% by May 29th they may not have to have any safety precautions. I dont mind going back to work...but we sat at benches before with people so close that the whole row had to stand up is someone needed get out of the row to use teh rest room. I really dont want togo back to that. Everyone was sick all the time with colds and stomach bugs, etc. Sigh We also wont have assigned seats so if people come in later they may not have a seat to sit in...but they dont want us to work at home.

OMG, you have GOT to find another job. I cannot imagine working that closely with other people right now, not after a year of social distancing. =(
