Not sure of this one.

I didn't really really care for the original.

It's supposed to me the moon at dusk with misty reflections.


I know enough about painting to think that I would have approached the subject differently than the teacher did.

It is supposed to be about the journey.

Curious how other students did.

This is very different for me. A different medium and techniques/ I have a large painting I want to do and it would be impossible for me to afford to frame it if I did it in watercolor.

The program is about painting water...and I paint oceans so it should teach e something at the end of 30 days. =)

The person who is heading this class- do they do those wine and paint night classes?

I think she may have started out that way. She does a you tube tutorial twice a week. The You Tube Channel is called The Art Sherpa. Some are very basic and some are very in depth. She is light and bubbly and a bit of a geek.

This is a beginners program to get you paining everyday and show some technique.

I think the color choices make things look a bit cartoonish... but I prefer watercolor...but to be fair I paint watercolor sharks so that makes me a bit of a cartoon too.

She also has a lab group where I could sing and then I could go out and teach her paintings at the paint and sip parties.

It sounds like fun! I'm glad you're trying something outside of your normal art life.

I prefer watercolors as well; I like the nuance of color and less garish aspect of that medium versus acrylics. But acrylics certainly get your point across with those bold hues!

While I prefer a more autumnal color scheme the teacher picked a split primal color palette for ease of beginner students. They would only have to buy a few tubes of paint and she has not gotten into blending yet.

2020 was pretty tough on art supplies as many paints are made over seas so it was pretty easy to get these colors. She has a big enough following that Amazon has jacked up the prices on some the supplies she listed for the program.

I know the big painting I want to do (based off a photo of the Great Marsh in Ipswich) has that striking blue sky and white clouds.

That's cool that she picked a limited palette to help save money. I know art supplies can get spendy.
