ravena_kadeAt 2:30 AM I hear Dad calling me. There is no power. Ummm... it would have been okay if you woke me up before you left at 5 AM. He forgot it was a holiday for me. I called the power company to report and I could not see any lights from my second floor windows so it was a wide spread event. I could not go back to sleep. Bah.
Once it was light enough to see I went back into the craft room. I moved in the old chest of drawers from my bedroom and moved many things around. Its not perfect yet, but at least I can see the guest bed....hopefully late summer, early fall I can have guests.
I decided to head up to the local diner and grab lunch as there still was no power...and no heat... and I was not sure if I would be able to cook dinner. Dad's work is having a New Year's party today so they are having a big lunch. Not sure how that will be socially distant, but since he caught COVID from the cousins he still has a bit of immunity left.
Every table at the diner was taken so I wanted outside a bot. Each table is surrounded by Plexiglas glass and the waitress washes them down with a bleach cleaning solution. Had a nice lunch. The waitress also had no power and was up since 2:30 AM.The cook and the waitress were looking for my Dad...but I said I was on my own. Having places to walk to is why I chose this house. It certainly isn't Ipswich, but then again I dont need the National Guard to plow us out either.
Came home and the heat and lights were on. Part of me would like a nap, but the other part wants to keep plugging away at the craft room
