Today feels like real winter.

I hope Persephone & Hades are having a really nice visit (no, I dont believe she goes back because she was tricked)...

This dry dry cold weather just dries out my skin... I need someone to lotion me up ;-)


Today was good. Dad wanted to take the new car for a ride so we headed up to Ipswich and ate at the bar. The place is really clean. There is plexiglas between all the tables and plexiglas partitions between every couple of seats at the bar and the bartender is surrounded by plexiglas with only an opening wide enough to get the clam plate dinner through. We go early and you can still smell a bit of disinfectant in the air. The clams were good.

I went next store to the jewelry shop and ordered one of the clam rings I want... I want a thumb ring so my thumb was measured. All my other fingers have been swollen for over a year, but the thumbs are not. Yay. The job I am now doing at work causes a fair amount of hand pain...which is one reason my typing sucks lately, but I don't use my thumbs.

I figured I should get thing ring now with some of my Christmas money because work sent an email out how they are restructuring the pay schedule which means they I will not get paid in April. Great. They said the picked April because many people should be getting a tax refund and that could help. Gee thanks.

Corporate entitled America.... where many make more than lower middle class wages and have hundreds of thousands in their 401k. For many they saved more than that in 2020 by not going on a lavish vacation.

We are going a month without a pay check to realign the schedule. So we would get it back when we leave...so they say. I really means they save a shit ton of money. They have offered that we can take an 85% of our pay as a loan, but it would need to be paid back within so many months. Who needs another bill?

This needs to be reported. Make a fuss, put up a stink, ruffle some feathers. You cannot simply go a month without pay, or be given 85% that you HAVE TO PAY BACK. What on Earth do these monsters think they can get away with?

They are allowed to do it because it is listed as a rescheduling.

It's easier than another massive lay off.

It has been done to me a couple times by the insurance company I worked at for 30 years. People went to the labor board then and it was okay because we would get back in the end.

If you quit or get fired, you get April's retroactive pay?
If you die, your estate gets the money?
What happens if you work there forever?

we are employees at will... so if we dont like things that the labor board and feds say are okay then we should leave. I just cant afford to. Many people in the states are stuck right now. Take a pay cut or be unemployed... I know that my next job might jus be bagging groceries because fo my age and no degree.
