Day 9 since contamination...day 5 of symptoms

Today I woke up feeling normal. The nose has stopped being runny. Yay.

About noon time I could feel congestion in my chest. Not really surprised. If I get a cold it spends 3 days in my head (and I am usually miserable) and it sinks to my chest and I feel better... as long as it doesn't turn to pneumonia. Fingers crossed. If the next days are okay, then okay... I may be safe for the rest of the winter. I have done some reading and no one is really sure of that yet.

Or, I just may have a regular cold. My results are not back yet.

I did receive a pulse oximeter today. I tried it before I felt congested and I was at 96. I will use that as my base. I tried it on Dad and he was also at 96. So at least we are the same... I need to watch him.

I went down stairs in the middle of the night to see if I could hear my Dad having trouble breathing. All was quiet. He even sleeps flat. When I had pneumonia I could not lay flat for 2 months and I wheezed awake and asleep.

I think at this point you probably ought to just assume you have it, and let your doctor know. If you're prone to pneumonia (or even if you've had it once) she should get the heads up so she can help you work out a contingency plan.

I'm glad you got tested and that your pulse oximeter has arrived (my regular number is 96 - 97, has been for months if that makes you feel any better).
