Dec. 29th, 2020 02:57 pmThe smart gal that my boss too to boot me off the team has a phone meeting with me today to train me on an account I am to take over. It seems pretty straight forward accept for tomorrow's work...and she is out tomorrow...of course...
I have alway thought that she missed talking to really people, but she has this odd way of not knowing when to disconnect. Today I asked her how her training was going and she opened up...she sounds a lot like me in that we dont know what we will be doing. She also said "I shouldn't say this, but both the boss and the other person male so much more money than I do and yet they are not doing the work of scheduling training... I wanted to say "Good Girl" because I was wondering how long it would take her to figure out that the boss's favorite was making 4 times she is...and she is supposed to do the same work. I did say that I didnt believe she is wrong. She also thought that the favorite often didnt make sense and that she didnt think she understood everything. I said I had found it to be true in some of my dealings. My advice was to put everything in writing. Perhaps next week ask for a conference call with the boss and the favorite and ask them what function should she learn first. Ask to set up a training lan and set a goal for the end of first quarter... involve the Boston Boss so there is accountability, but also just in case you don't understand what you are being trained on, or if you have experience that tells you something different than what you are boing shown. She said she was surprised at the language barrier considering how much this person is paid. Ummm..yeah...
We spoke for over an hour. She is feeling pretty isolated and really doesn't want to learn all this stuff if she will not be compensatied for it. I understood.
