The laptop arrived at 5 PM.
The password that the IT guy gave me did not work. It was a very simple password and I wrote it down. I texted the Boston Boss to tell her that I received the machine, but there were issues.
I was able to get ahold of the help desk before it closed and someone stayed a bit late to show me how to override the password. We could do it that way since I did not connect top the internet and so the new laptop had not yet spoken to the main frame.
Then I had run out because my monitor had an old VGA plug and this new laptop had a different outlet. I dreaded going to a big box store in December, but this is a COVID year and no one seemed to be out Christmas shopping. So it was an hour later I was home with a $30 adaptor. Happily the thing worked as I had no desire to buy a monitor for a work computer.
Spent an hour trying to make sure I can get into all the sites I need.
I also checked my work... and I see that the team leader did a good job on somethings that she only had minor training on.
