Nov. 15th, 2020 09:22 amThe jaw/tooth nerve pain comes and goes... most of the time it is low and nagging...sometimes I cant stand it. Too many over the counter pain killers. Not so much to help the pain, but perhaps they help with the inflammation. Sometimes a gargle of whiskey or rum takes the edge off....this is why I don't like a lot of hard liquor... I had tooth issues and no dental insurance when I was young... so that helped... but it associates with not feeling well. Weird that the whiskey works better than the rum... I can also understand how people get hooked on pain killers when they are in pain. I cant call to get to a specialist for another week due to the possible covid exposure. Bah...
I got my covid test... no big deal...but they say 2 to 3 days for results when you make the appointment, but tell you 5 to 6 when you get there. The cousins still don't have results...but at least no one is sick in their house. That is good as they are still hoping for a Thanksgiving. Frankly if anyone else but the girls are in the house I am not taking off my mask.... and wont touch the toddler.
Work is still sucking. I did most of my work on the Wednesday holiday so I could train on Thursday and Friday. It couldn't happen as there was another issue and I had to spend 5 hours looking through 7000 lines for $50. Glad the windows were not open as I was rather vocal in how pissed off I was... and even though I worked 4 hours on a holiday I was still behind. I hate my job now... not just some of the people but what I am doing... Crying in the kitchen is not how I want to spend this pandemic. I am disappointed that the talk with HR just ended up with "your manager will help you develop" I think I need to start getting up at 3 AM.
I had more conversations with the team leader. She seems really nice and is concerned that I am taking on work that has a time deadline and doesn't want me getting up at 4 AM to get it done...ummm...too late. No one but be reads time stamps. I told her my goal is to know what I am supposed to do and then rearrange the order in which I do things... and then have the bulk of the work done by lunch and the afternoon be for meetings or the classes we have to take (or paint ceramics and draw). She agreed and said that is how she structures her day. From our talk I get that she thinks we are understaffed its 3 people. She is also missing the other person that my boss took for cards...not that it was her intention but it just makes me feel that the boss took the smart one and threw away the dumb one.
While the team leader is nice she is not great at explaining things...nor do they write notes that include all the steps. There is one function I want, but it's hard to learn remote. What I want to do is share my computer screen with them and do the work as they tell me what to do... and then record it so I can take notes. I am not sure how long my phone will video it, but I think it will help so I can make good notes. Writing workable procedures is my strength. Lots of screen shots and step by step instructions.
