I worked through my Dad almost dying 3 times this fall. And my merit increase is only $20 a week. I was better treated in the sweat shop. Hell, my Dad's boss gave him a raise for just not dying.

It costs over $800 to fill my oil tank. Almost $200 for electric. Never mind the price of eggs.

and any place else that would want me would cut my pay by $80 a day or more.

That and I hate f'ing spread sheets with a passion.
