Sep. 26th, 2021 05:16 amI can't sleep. The rain is TOO HEAVY. We have had so much rain this year that my used to be dry cellar takes on water. Not unusual for a house for a 102 year old structure in New England... but these days many things have upped anxiety levels so I have lots to wizzing about my brain.

Friday night I bought a lobster roll for a dead woman. Sigh. I went to visit the elderly friends, that in my teens were my best friends and shaped a lot of how I think on many different things. I don't see them as much as I want to because their views have become odd since moving into elderly housing.
As a treat when I go I buy lobster rolls... not a cheap treat, but we all enjoy it. I pick up 4 because my friends feed a 98 year old that lives next store and has no family. In the past I have looked in on the women when my friends were ill or away. She was very nice and had all her faculties... Well when I called Friday night I asked if everyone would like lobster rolls and they said yes. I said I would get the 4 so we could all have a nice dinner like we usually do and I have the chips that Betty likes.
I get there and pull out plates to set up dinner and when I set the 4th out they say "Oh Betty died 2 weeks ago" What? Oh, I said well I bought her dinner. They said that they thought thats why I did the 4. Gee it would have been nice if you told me. They asked if I wanted to set up the little table or if eating in the living room would be okay. I said I think we should go where Betty is buried and have a lobster roll with her. She's buried down in Cape Cod. We did not go. Stupid crap like this is why I don't see them very week like I used to.

I did get my phone and it works. I did not get the fancy phone I wanted. I settled for practical and a lower bill. I am disappointed in some ways...but I shouldn't define me by my toys. I should work on my paintings and define me by that.

Today is a fund raiser for the animal shelter. I am volunteering. I want to get myself out there. This year I donated a ceramic tree for the raffle. I am going to meet people and to see if I can meet the event coordinators. I want see if I can be part of that. Maybe get them to do the craft show next year...maybe get them to do an art show. We shall see. I just need to expand my circle
