Aug. 21st, 2021 08:40 pmDid the city outside craft event with my friend. She did pretty good and if half teh people who said they'd come to shop actually do that she could have some good students. The space was $25 and she made enough to pay for it.
I enjoyed myself. I like working craft shows. I like interacting with people. My friend is painfully shy so I help by pimping things.
Odd thing. We were talking about something and one thing led to another and I found out she was molested as a child =( He parents didn't believe her. I can only think that that has led to her shyness/not speaking out, etc. So Sad. My mom openly told all relatives that if anyone touched us she would kill them. She said it again when I was 12... and I was there.
I told my friend I would help her if she wanted to do it again.
I introduced myself someone who was supposed to be in charge. They are not very organized. They also did not have any photographers or painters. There is money there. Its buy a lot of high end housing. I would like to see if I could volunteer and pimp the pop up art mart better. It looks like the art association is not involved. Not surprised as they are old fashioned thinkers. I know there are young people out there painting and doing photos. The city needs to involve these people. $25 for a table would be easy for a college kid to put some stuff out there.
I also want to try and bring some 8 x 8 paintings... they are real say to carry. I could even put a ton of them in a shopping cart and take the train to teh sight. I just have to figure out an umbrella/sun shade. The easy up - pop up tent things are wicked heavy and not easy to put up alone. I need to figure that out for next year.
