I had a very nice morning yesterday.

I took the commuter rail north. At the station a young woman said that she loved my mask...the pattern was peacock feathers. As we boarded she asked if she ould ride with me. She had never taken teh train to work before. Usually I like to sleep on the train ride, but thought it would be nice to meet someone new. She was in her mid twenties and chatty. She mentioned she history stuff and then mentioned she worked in garb. I asked if she was a reenactor, but she said she wasn't that good and that she was a guide at the Salem Witch Museum. She really knew her subject and of life in the time period. I suggested some places she might like to go to see the time period portrayed as living history. We had a lovey talk. It really made my morning.

Once at Manchester bu the Sea the sun was out and it was nice...not hot, but nice. The beach wasn't empty but the tide line wasn't crowded. I like to spend my time at the wrack line. The was a woman about my Dad's age with wavy white blond hair and tanned skin. She was in a 2 piece and I thought that was fabulous. The looked like she spent a lifetime on boats and the beach. She went in teh water and immediate went...oooohh...oohh... owwww.... I was close enough to ask if she was okay and she laughed. She said that she was stupid and shaved her legs this morning and the salt ... I laughed and said thats why I did mine last night. I instantly had a beach buddy. We walked the beach close isa so we could hear each other, but looking at different areas for shells. This beach does not have many because of the surf. She is a local so she knew. It has great rocks.

She asked if I had found any sand dollars. I said many years ago I found one here so I know they are here, but the surf is tough. That and it's not the right sand yet. The tide needs to go out more. I told her that I could never find any more until my Mom passed and the I started finding them a lot. I think of her when I find them.

We walked back a bit ore but she had to go so I picked a spot to settle in for a bit. I went in the water and come the beach more as the tide was receding. I took one more pass at noon ...lowest tide would be at 1:23 PM. I found some large muscle shells and lots of granite chips. And then there was a whole sand dollar just stirring there. I was very happy. Since I could not get to a nice beach in 2020 because of the pandemic this is my first sand dollar of the decade.

After the beach I went to a favorite jewelry store and boutique. Sadly I found out that the jeweler I would talk to had passed away early 2020. I loved her work as she used items like I use in jewelry and made statement pieces and had a shop where people would buy the, I showed her some things I made and she said they were very nice, but I need a different audience. The work was good, but this isn't for boring people. Her daughter took over the business and designs jewelry as well. I bought myself a modern pair of gold hoop earrings. I may go back for them in sterling too. I saw an Ethiopian Opal ring... stunning. The opal has orange in it. The thing with Opals is that they say it is bad luck to buy your own opal...that and it was $1800.00 I cant pay that much for a ring.

Came home and was stressed. One the train ride back I had 2 people wanting a text conversation and my uncle calling...he wanted to talk then but kept fading out. Dad picked my up at the train and an aunt called me twice...we were at a restaurant so I wouldn't pick up so she called teh house and then called my Dad's cell twice. He picked up and said we were eating. Oi. Called her when we got home and she talked for 2 hours. After that chat my sister called... so my night was all phone.

Today I am off to Revere beach to look for moon snails.
