Jul. 3rd, 2021 04:17 pmThis weather is getting me down. The beginning of last week was a hot humid gross hell (I like heat but not humid) and the end of the week is like a Nor'easter in March. It was 63 degrees in the house this morning...I refuse to turn on heat in July.
The rain and wind are beating up the flower buds on the garden. Not good.
Today I did make reservations to go to a restaurant with Dad for lunch. It is a place The Tides. We would go there when I was a kid. Went there for my First Communion I thought that it would be nice to go and then walk Nahant beach like I did when I was little.
We did get there...it was stormy, but there were surfers riding the waves and a couple other walkers. I left Dad and set out to walk the beach. It was low tide and there was a beautiful sand flat... and driving wind and rain... I set out... and just as I set foot on the sand there was a small shark eyed moon snail shell peeping up at me. Joy.
I walked the beach...it was hard as the wind and rain was in my face...but it was what I needed. I think I am a Selkie. I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling...and I have sand in my teeth. I was only 25 minute and batting the storm. I was soaked. I did find a hand full of moon snail shells and lots of sand collars. A sand collar is the egg case of the moon snail. It looks like tsomeone cut the neck off a plastic bottle.
The meal was good but pricey. We had big Lobster rolls with a side of macaroni and cheese. Much better than lobster mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very good and felt good since I was cold and soaked.
I want go back for my Birthday. Maybe ask the cousins. They can all sit with Dad while I sneak out to beach comb. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny then.
