Dec. 29th, 2017 04:39 pmToday was the last work day of the year.
3 people asked me for permission to leave early because all the bosses have vacation day. I told them that I could not give permission, but if their daily work was done, then I as a person do not care if they go. I had already decided to leave at noon, but I am only responsible for myself and I had some left over PTO time.
In 2018 I will attempt to make some changes with my boss since my back up will be gone for 3 months or more with maternity leave. All I want to do is show my boss how to do the daily reconciliation of the general ledger account I maintain. The reason is because I have medical stuff that needs to be done and cannot guarantee that I will not need some time off between March and August. If I am not successful with the boss then I have no problems telling her that I will actively look to leave the area in favor of another area. She will have no one who knows my job.
This week the older worker I sit next to had to run home on Monday because she thought her 93 year old Mom fell and her husband and son did not know what to do. She has been out all week, but calls me at 5:15 AM. They feared a broken hip, but it turned out to be extreme tendinitis on her hip. I hope she is okay.
