Dec. 9th, 2017 06:57 amI was really tired so I went to bed around 8:30...but Ma was on my mind so I could not stay asleep.
Animal Planted is running back to back shows of Tanked. An interesting one was a tank done for a robot place in Woburn Mass. They built a series of tanks that included a robotic arm that was programed to feed the fish.
Today I want to finish 99% of our Christmas shopping... Dad and I are splitting family gift giving this year. It will be easier I also really only think that he should just be giving to a few people... 2 are me and my sister... although there is not enough for me this year. The Texas relative have the means to have everything and really are not keen on baked goods so I have some token small things and some books for them. It's no trouble to write from Jen and Paul in their things.
Since I was up early I went to to peek in my kiln...
... My boss asked me if I made ceramic Christmas Trees and about a price. It would be for her daughter who just bought her first house. I have met the girl and I would be really proud to be her Mom. She is 26 just got her Master's degree in special Ed and saved enough on a teacher's salary for a decent down payment on a home... and asked to have her Grandmother's China... So I thought that instead of a Christmas tree like her Grandmother has I offered her Mom the opportunity to make her daughter a tree. I think having a tree her Mom made for her would thrill her more. So last week I wrapped up ceramic tree and all the paints and had a mini lesson in work. The boss took it home and brought it back to me on Thursday. The trouble with glazes is that you cannot tell how they will come out until the final firing...
... and yay the tree loos great. I do hope the daughter loves it.
