Aug. 13th, 2017 09:32 amYesterdays picnic went well... No rain...no fighting... Good.
It was too cold to go into the water so we played board games. If we do it again I will bring cards. I can't shuffle, but Dad doesn't do board games as he doesn't know the rules (and doesn't want to look dumb in a group) He knows cards and he will be involved more.
I also want to bump up some snack ideas for another time. Maybe work on grilled nachos. Andt hen something with fruit. I have a ton of cook books and there is the internet so I should be able to come up with something.
The place was pretty and clean. They had grills there and you could bring your own if you wanted. The life guards were attentive. I was disappointed that you could not walk around the entire pond as the area was divided up into private property. I did see little toads, but the fish could not be seen close. I guess I am still all sea shore and not a pond gal. I do get why we need a lake or pond...many elders can't take the heat and no shade of the seashore.
The contractor cousin, his wife, and adult children has an odd dynamic... they bicker and nit pic each other... Kind of sad as one on one I enjoy their company.
