Oct. 4th, 2020 08:19 amYesterday was a nice day.
I had friend over for a socially distant visit in the yard and Mother Nature did not disappoint. At one point a bunny ran right between us. And later a really large hawk...I think a big female red tail landed in a tree close by.
malterrehad send a box of meats from D'Artagnan and it was a duck-a-palooza.
Since I was pretty sure someone was allergic to duck I bought some chicken tenders to grill too...and since I mentioned duck tacos to spikesgirl58a few days before (please note that the auto check did not replace the u in duck with an 1 like it did last week) I put out taco fixings so people could try a little or a lot of any bird that they wanted.
Earlier in the morning I was poking on the internet and saw bon mi duck tacos so I did a pickle with red onion, shredded carrot and garlic and I am in love. I love how it went with the rich duck. I am going to do this more often.
It was so nice just to sit and talk with friends and enjoy the outside.
I think I will plan a couple "garden" parties next year..one in Spring and one in early fall. Maybe buy a fire pit and enjoy the outside more in the fall.
This morning I am having foie gras on toast for breakfast...
Today is ceramics at the cousins.

Date: 2020-10-04 03:42 pm (UTC)A fire pit would be great. I've been to gatherings with one and it's fun (and warm on chilly evenings).
