Sep. 29th, 2020 04:40 amTonight was a rough night at the animal shelter.
I went on a long walk with a large Husky and another volunteer joined us with a puppy that was dumped at the shelter. Both dogs pull a lot on the leash, but other than that they were not bad dogs. The husky pulls you like he is pulling a sled. I take him because I am fairly strong.
On the way back from the log walk someone in a house lets their little white fluffy dog out their front door. Instead of going to the puppy and plaything, the little furry fucker changes me and the husky. I am trying not to let go go the husky and the mall dog starts biting the hem of my pants and then the legs of the husky... I am being spun all over the place and my glasses are fogged up because of the GD mask... I am yelling the dog owners to get their dog off me because I don't know if I can hold onto the husky much longer. The other volunteer yelled at the dog owners to get a leash and het their dog. They said they didn't need a leash because it was their dog... and then the volunteer yelled well grab your dog. I am still strufggling and being spun. The little dog kept trying to bite the husky's hind legs and the husky was spinning to fend him off. I swore "getting your f'in dog off me or I will kick it off me... as I am being pulled all over the place. The stupid people finally grabbed their dog and I was out of breath. They didn't eve ask me if I was alright. Jerks. I did say that the only reason why I did not let go of the leash is because if the husky defended himself then he would most likely be put down...because of their stupidity.
Frankly I was amazed that it didn't end badly. Since I was being spun I feared I would fall. What amazed me was thatchy husky didn't bite the little dig and that he didn't pull away from me. I have some strength, but I know if a 90 pound dog wants something bad enough that it won't be my strength that holds him back.
