Sep. 26th, 2020 09:45 pmI had a half day on Friday... I have 9 PTO days to burn in the next 3 moths with no place to go. I decided to visit DQ and her room mate. I have not seen them in 2 months. Visiting them can be filled with mixed emotions, but I wanted to see them and I worry since they really don't have anyone. They are 78 and 75 years old. I have a key to their building and if questioned I identify myself as their personal care attendant since family cannot visit, but workers can. Its sad that our elders are so isolated.
The visit went well for the most part. We chatted and had sandwiches for lunch. I moved a tv for them and also helped hang some pictures. I also helped set up a few things on their smart TV Not that I know much about computer stuff, but DQ has severe tremors and cannot use a computer mouse and the only way to get a streaming service set up was to use the mouse so I helped there too.
We talked about setting up Zoom on their phone so we can have zoom meetings with a group of friends from the ceramic shop days.
