Birthday was there...55 was very uneventful. Could not et to my beach. The cousins ordered Chinese food.

Yesterday I worked in the yard. Finally got the stone circle reshaped for my orange chair. I could not do it last year because of my hands. I was pleased at the finish. I put out the stones I have collected from my beach up north. I went to a local clam shack for lunch and ordered a lobster roll.

Today I woke up out of sorts. There was a storm predicted so I thought I would do indoor things, but I was too unsettled. Too many thoughts of work. I wrote out some bills and walked to the post office. The humidity killed me today. It was supposed to be a rainy day...but no. I stopped at the local fish guy store and they did not have lobsters...but they had lobster mac and cheese. It was tasty. Not too heavy a cheese so I could appreciate the lobster.

Still feeling unsettled I decided I needed salt water. 12:40 was high tide. I went out at 1 pm. No one else was on the beach because of the predicted storm. The water was still on the sandy parts of the beach, but had gone gown enough in 20 minutes that a small tide pool was forming. I saw little minnows... close enough to the ones I see in Ipswich that it made me happy.

Since it was close after high tide I took a sample of water home. It was just as clear as the samples I have from Ipswich and Rockport. I tested them with the water tester I have for the spa and everything was similar. The tester I have does not count bacteria...but today I would have gone in up to where the sand was...I like to see my feet.

I do know that after heavy rains we get a lot of bacteria because the storm drains run into the bay and that washes a ton of stuff into the pay...like animal poop, trash, food scraps. So I guess the home beach is mostly a mess because of people and events on shore.

The beach is much much more crowded since Corvid. All the nicer towns have restricted their beaches to residents only. Our city has not done that. Many of the people who frequent the beach are not advserve to leaving dirty diapers and food scraps. The city has people clean the beach around 6 AM but they are unable to keep up with the gross people. It's sad.

Tomorrow I have ab eye dr appointment. I'll get new glasses. :toking forward to that as I have had a scratch in the middle of the left lens since March.

Belated happy birthday.

I'm always appalled by the rubbish people leave behind them on beaches and in parks. Wtf is the matter with them? It's not normal behaviour at home is it, so why do they do it when they are out?

So sorry to hear that the crowds are trashing your local beach. People just suck sometimes. =(
